To whom it may concern
Until recently, when the BBC upgraded us onto their mainframe network, Casualty’s on-site computer system was installed, administered, run and maintained by Pete Cannard and his team at Cannard Computing in Westbury-on-Trym.
I arrived in Bristol to take over the management of the series in April 2006 and had never worked with an internal intranet – instead of a universally managed network – before but immediately found the service provided by Cannard Computing to be to a very high standard, both in terms of the equipment supplied by them and the on-going service and after care provided to all members of staff here at the Casualty Warehouse who were on the system. Not only were they technically excellent and knowledgeable about the equipment, they provided a “service with a smile”, always friendly, ever-helpful and willing to offer advice and suggestions to anyone who needed it.
Having taken over running on-site IT and telephony from a previous supplier, who has gone bankrupt, Cannard not only got the existing system back on its feet but improved and embellished it over the next 2 years whilst they held the contract here at Casualty. Had it not been for the fact that it was necessary to bring the show onto the BBC network so that it could use new programs and software being rolled out across the Corporation that was essential to the running of the series, I would have had no hesitation at all in maintaining our links with Cannard Computing as the service throughout my association with them had been both committed, efficient and reliable and I have every trust in their capabilities.
For that reason, I can heartily recommend Pete and his team to anyone who is thinking of using them in the future – you will have made an excellent choice if you do!
